Fight to Save Pixie Hollow!

Closing

The Never Council has completely disbanded and disappeared. Sweet Pea, Marina, Kit, and Slate seemed to have vanished as well, but then Sweet Pea posted on the Never News blog on Tuesday and Marina posted on Thursday, so they’re either still hanging around quietly or the posts were written in advance and are being posted by whoever’s left. My guess is the latter…

When the closure was officially announced on August 20, 2013, they shut down all ways to contact the Never Council and customer service. They no longer exist.  All account restrictions have been removed, so everyone is now a Member. (I wish this would have happened without the closing, but at least those of you that have never been a Member can now see what it’s like for the next few weeks.)

There’s a “Pixie Hollow Farewell” badge in the Ballroom, so if you haven’t taken the closing seriously yet, now’s the time to wake up!!! It’s REALLY going to close in less than 3 weeks!!!

I’ve had time to do some research and I’ve done a great deal of thinking…

Is Pixie Hollow like your second home? I’ve been playing since February 2010, so I can easily say Pixie Hollow has become a big part of my life. If it really does close on September 19th, it’s like a part of me will die with it. Do you feel the same way? Would you do anything to help save it???

Join me in the battle to save Pixie Hollow and become a Pixie Salvation Soldier! I plan to fight until the bitter end – no matter what. It won’t be easy, but I am holding onto a glimmer of hope that Pixie Hollow can be saved if enough people are willing to fight for it!

    Soon, I’m going to post this on my blog plus a way about u can sign the petition several times. 🙂 I just noticed that the main petition( about which Melanie told us) has got over 2,000 signs in 10 days! I guess we CAN get even more than 5000 signs within 18th of September!

      They might… I heard a rumor that a Pixie Hollow worker said that! :O
      I’m not sure if they will really keep the Hollow open just because of this, but having 5000 people sign a petition will at least make them reconsider it. Maybe if they see how much people would miss it, they would keep it from closing.

      Let’s just hope that they really will reconsider and Pixie Hollow can stay open 😉

      The clothes are:

      Sleek and stylish riding helmet ( do marina’s quest or buy a walnut helmet at zephyr’s zoom room)

      stylish buckle vest ( availible at post office)

      Vidia’s winter skirt (now availible at gale’s)

      I think the wand is called magic wand (my closet won’t load so I can’t check) and you can win at vidia’s daily spin 😀

      I have no idea what the boots are so I used random shoes!

    I really wish we could save the Hollow. I have been there since July 2008 and am a Founding Fairy but I fear Disney will never listen. Once they make their minds up you can’t change it. It all breaks my heart.

    actually, I’m truly feeling hopeless now. Disney wants money and they don’t care if billions of hearts are broken. I’m 11 now and i was sure that i could be on Hollow for MANY LONG years…
    Idea is that we should write a VERY HEARTWARMING letter to Disney. We shall not show anger but sadness.

    Ello all !! I have some unusual news to deliver today.

    I was minding my own business in Dewdrop Vale, when I saw that my old friend Dustin came online. We chatted a while and I told him how sad I was to see the Hollow closing down. Dustin replied “good thing it’s only temporary” which lead some questions as you’d expect. I found out that a friend of Dustin’s had called up Disney and asked what was going to happen to the Hollow. The worker responded saying they they were going to “upgrade” the hollow, probably to HTML.

    I read an online rumor saying that the Adobe Flash Player, which the Hollow runs on, had a deadly virus and it was eating away game data.I am not sure of these rumors. Coincidentally, a game of Facebook recently closed down all of a sudden, even though it wasn’t that popular (anymore) it was still played but many. It ALSO ran on Adobe. I did my research, and CLUB PENGUIN RUNS ON ADOBE.

    Someone needs to explain this. I’m loosing my mind. SAVE THE HOLLOW!!!

    I am closing down my “save pixie hollow” blog and creating a new won ( i’m aware that I’m speaking half pixie latin ) at ” pixiehollowsmagic.wordpress.com ” this site is a story site and to reconnect old pixie pals. you leave your contact info ( nothin serious, just a fairy email or fairy facebook or your name on a diff game you play ) so your old pals can find you.     But Marigold, throughout these long years, right from 2010 till now, you have been extremely supportive and friendly. Your blog has helped millions of Fairies and I think Disney should thank you for that. Many people joined Hollow after seeing your blog. Your language, style, all those pictures, everything was just perfect.

    Go to the UK site… they haven’t closed the UK’s Pixe Hollow!! Is it just America????!!! Anyway, I’ve made a new fairy over there – oh, and get this: you can make THREE of them AND the starter fairy is more like the ORIGINAL Pixie Hollow where you have way more hairstyles to choose from, more clothes and you can choose whatever color you want!! I haven’t played yet, just created my first fairy, but I suggest everyone create Pixies on the UK site so we can stay in touch while we fight to bring back the US version of Pixie Hollow!! Pixie Salvation Soldiers don’t give up!!

    I have been thinking that we should keep on fighting. That we should do everything we can to make it really hard, if not completely impossible for Disney to ignore us. I was thinking about visiting as many blogs, forums, and sites as possible to get and KEEP THE MESSAGE GOING THAT WE WANT PIXIE HOLLOW WORLD BACK!!! We really have to be nice though since we don’t want Disney to get mad at us. I think we should look for and use as many ways as we can to keep Disney well aware of how we feel.

    We should keep going. We should continue to fight for Pixie Hollow. I plan to never give up on getting our Hollow back.

    Perhaps we only lost the first fight, not the battle.

    Perhaps the battle for Pixie Hollow…is just beginning.

      Actually very extremely true and Pixie Hollow will be there. Every year (or 6 months or every month i think XD) All of disney gathers. I check club penguin everyday and servers are getting smaller,and smaller,and smaller everyday! so pray to Jesus Christ (yes i said it) that they’ll open up again!!!!!!

    Ive never seen you on Pixie Hollow b4 but reading this has reminded me i can still fight. I have the power, technology,persuasion, heartbreaking writing, and just everything (lots for an 11 year old right?) and yet i sit here on the computer crying infront of my family because i expect to see that wonderful website open and ready to see all 300 of that family there. and i still remember Misty.Kayle,Tod,Skyler,Rainy,Thunder, and everyone like it was only yesterday! I still watch thos videos with Layla and Serendipity and Minerva and Emily and think theres nothing i can do! Rose Pollenpuff (my fairy) she was NEVER famous but lived with what she had. Rose only was there for ONE YEAR. and had family and a birthday and friends and plays. Only once she had a membership and gave her use to OTHERS. Its my honor to be doing this!     Hi everyone after reading everything on this blog I want to tell u that i wasn’t even able to play for two months. I created my fairy on 5 August and i knew about this site when i was like in class 4 (I’m in class 7 now). But my mom won’t lie me create an account bc she thought it would show bad results in my studies, we did not have fast internet connection that time and the site was not safe. But when I was finally able to create an account I played everyday. For one week we had class oral tests so I couldn’t play. Then I opened the site one day and saw that pixie hollow wood be closing in a month. I played everyday for about 2-3 hours. I was never a member until the closing. I even took speed chat plus after the notice of closing appeared. U all must be thinking I have wasted ur time and and so what it was not a big deal with u bc u really never played pixie hollow that much, but think of this as this: I AM A PERSON WHO CANNOT MAKE A FRIEND EASILY WITH EVERYONE BC I AM NOT CONFIDENT WHEN U R CHATTING WITH SOMEONE AND THE OTHER PERSON DOES NOT LIKE WHAT U SAY IT SHOWS ON THEIR FACE, AND U UNDERSTAND THAT PERSON DOES NOT LIKE U AND U R HURT. BUT PIXIE HOLLOW WAS MUCH MORE EASIER FOR PEOPLE TO TALK TO. I EVEN FOUND A FAIRY WHO WAS MY BEST FRIEND HER NAME WAS STELLA QUICKDUST.

          The reality is its gone and you will never convince Disney to bring it back..I wish you could but you can’t. The truth of the matter is ill mannered Fairies who were constantly rude and mean to most Fairies are part of the reason Disney killed it. Do you have any idea how many reports were filed by Fairies against other Fairies…do you ??? Disney was swamped everyday with thousands of filed reports. In June 2013 as a temporary Moderator I saw first hand what Disney Mods were dealing with. Some Fairies were even threatening law suits if Disney did not act on their complaints. Bad Fairies are one of the main reasons Disney said enough and shut it down because it was really getting out of control and getting worse. So don’t be angry at Disney be angry at the bad lot of Fairies and their disruptive attitude and with that said I am sure you think of a few Fairies who picked on the young ones and intimidated other myself included. Pixie Hollow was full of bullies spoiling it for the rest of us. Adults pretending to be kids and making them feel picked on and abused mentality.

PH closed because Disney wants to promote Club Penguin because I think they felt that the three MMORPG’s were getting too much attention and Club Penguin is left behind. Plus, PH is a success, how could you say that? True, there are some bullies in PH, but that’s not the reason they closed it. Haven’t you noticed a lot of Club Penguin, Where’s my water and Disney Infinity advertisements on TV? That’s the proof.

    my dad knows someone who works for Disney and I got to know that Disney had a huge budget crisis- they had lost money. And, people were showing less interest in Disney Fairies.
    And, Disney had a meeting on November 4 , 2013 about this issue but it was a ‘private’ meeting.
    Pixie Hollow may open again, after the HUGE success of the latest Disney film- Frozen

      Since the email addresses don’t work for Pixie Hollow anymore, I suppose emailing the folks at Disney Parks is worth a shot. I’ll send them an email and see what kind of response I get. Thanks for sharing 🙂

    I want to help too! I love Pixie Hollow and would do anything to save it. I’ve been playing it since I was 3 years old . But what if the owners of Pixie Hollow don’t listen. Anyways We are going to spread the word to everyone and be optimistic about this!

    Well one thing I do know is “WE” all love and miss Pixie Hollow.
    Talking to this new Disney CEO can not hurt as long as we don’t attack him calling the closure decision stupid or something like that. Let him know in any email that all we want is a rational logical discussion on the love in our lives called Pixie Hollow. Another petition might be a good thing to start up though I don’t know if we could get the same numbers as the last petitions.
    The last thing any of us need to do is start telling Disney off and even though you might not think so I believe they are fully aware of what they did and how we feel about our loss.

    Okay here, I gotta point. If Disney really wanted to shut the entire Pixie Hollow world down, why Do they still have the game on the ‘new’ Disney Fairies website, which we see after Pixie Hollow closed??? That’s a question worth answering. Why are they leaving the traces of that game behind?
    My best friend Julie says that if they ended the entire game from top to bottom, erased everything, then it would be very hard for them to set it all up again and start over, it would cost too much. So, they’re just keeping it so that they would find it easy to set up the game later on…

    What’s more, Pixie Hollow was ,made for promotional uses and so were Toontown and POTC Online. It’s not that case with CP. Maybe Disney doesn’t need to promote anything now. So, to save their money they closed down the three MMORPGs.

    Perhaps the best course of action is to let it be and just wait and see. The one thing that has been constant is “most” Disney staff are replying back saying it will not be back. So until Disney themselves but out a public media update on PH we should sit back and wait.

The email was sent a little over a week ago and the only reply he received was that it was being passed along to the appropriate person. But brace yourselves, the weirder thing is here- I typed the same URL again in the evening, it took me to amazon.com! (You know, the online store that sells stuff.) Okay, things are getting really strange. I went to the same URL today, it took me to facebook. My gosh. Then, I went to the URL just now, just before typing this comment, it’s still taking me to facebook. The weirdest thing possible- Has Facebook bought Pixie Hollow? I really am praying to death this hasn’t happened.

    My Dears I can’t see any reason to be optimistic about the return of our Pixie Hollow. Disney has and is sticking to their decision (right or wrong as we see it). I have seen or heard nothing over the last eight months that even remotely states the Hollow will be back. If Pixie Hollow is going to return its the great secret Disney has ever kept. We all knew the Hollow would close one day as all things good or bad come to an end. Myself I had seven wonderful years on the Hollow while some of you only had a few so most of you feel cheated some how. In perfect world the Hollow would still be running or about to come back…but it is not a perfect world as it is and always has been run by money. I still believe “money” is the core of PH’s closure so unless you can win 50 million and go to Disney I fear it is gone and even with 50 million I still think Disney would say no. I would love to hear your thoughts ?

      A big part of who we all are will always wish and hope Pixie Hollow returns no matter what our age. Being a Pixie Fairy in Pixie Hollow was the most wonderful part of our lives and I for one will never forget. As long as we can remember Pixie Hollow will always live with in us and Disney can never take that from us. You are the best my Dears.

      Giving up implies that we have been in meaningful dialogue with Disney. We have asked over and over again for Disney to bring it back and they have consistently said it is not coming back. If there is another way to go or another angle we here are all ears and if it has merit we will all support it but my Dear I fear the fight is over.

I only had three years there, and I could have stayed there forever and been happy. We mattered enough to Disney that they kept Pixie Hollow open for us. Pixie Hollow is worth fighting for!

      Lucy my Dear we all miss PH and if there was a way to bring it back we would all be on that band wagon. The one painful thing about Disney is when they make a decision (right or wrong in our eyes) they stick to it. It really boils down to money, if they could make an insane amount of money by bringing back PH it would be back by now.

      You don’t seem to grasp just haw many people were involved in PH. Program designers to get it up and running and designers to maintain it for seven years giving us new dresses and household items. To create a site like PH takes many many people and these are people you have to pay and I am sure they don’t come cheap then there are people to monitor the site for seven years to try and keep it safe for the younger members. There is the cost of all their servers which I am sure could fill a large room if not more and they all require electricity to run them 24/7 for seven years.
      To bring back PH would be a massive adventure even for Disney so there has to be something in it for them to commit those kinds of resources a second time.
      So my Dear I am sure you can now see it is not a simple thing to bring Pixie Hollow back just because we miss it as we all DO miss it.

    I think someone should try contacting Disney into remaking Pixie Hollow but making it a more universal online game. I live in the UK and hardly anyone hear has ever heard of Pixie Hollow but everyone knows Club Penguin. If Disney could remake Pixie Hollow and advertise it to everyone, maybe showing adverts on Disney Channel or whatever, then they would make wayyyyy more money and could (hopefully) be able to keep it open, no?

      Its a lovely thought Lila but PH had at the end a very large following all around the world. To start it up again as I said above would cost an enormous amount of money which I dare say Disney is not going to put up front unless they could be sure of profits. Everything that was Pixie Hollow must surly be deleted by now so you are talking about starting from scratch again. They would have to re-hire the people they let go after all the shut downs. It would not make fiscal sense to have all these servers just sitting around with PH material on it. Unless Disney has some plan we know nothing about I fear the Hollow is gone. It also serves none of us to badger Disney as over the last eight months or so it has all been said and still nothing from them.
      I am sorry my Dear but in a practical world Pixie Hollow is just not practical to bring back…I could be wrong and I would love to be wrong but I fear I am not wrong.

      Disney knows how much Pixie Hollow means to us…. they always did from the day they killed it. You are reading to much into an off the cuff remark on how the fans still miss PH. Read my posts from above………… until Disney says “Pixie Hollow is coming back” its not. You are just getting your hopes up as well as that of other Pixies, the Hollow is gone.

    Disney said they are making apps for smartphones which also might mean Pixie Hollow might become an app. I have a smartphone but I also have a 12.2 inch screen tablet so when Disney gets off their duff I will be back in the Hollow. At least I think they are making a PH app for phones……. I hope they are ???

    Well I did live in England until April 30, I agree with Lila Bcz while I was there there was few people who knew about PH and pretty much had no clue about it, but everybody knew about Club Penguin like if it was Facebook. I think PH wouldn’t have ” suffered” as much if Disney promoted it like they do with Club Penguin with ads and other stuff. Disney has changed a lot ( in a bad way)

      Disney is being unfair with Pixie Hollow, or, perhaps, no one is stepping out to help. I mean, fans are re-opening ToonTown, and I have heard that POTC Online would also be re-opened by fans. Of course, several attempts have been made for PH, like Fairy ABC and Worliz Pixie Hollow, but none of them worked. Moreover, Disney has kept Club Penguin open. -.- This is really devastating.

    If Disney did make it an app then they would probably make it a rip-off like they always do. The only thing that I’m playing that’s similar to PH is the Chinese PH, but it’s a somewhat different from the old PH and I’m still getting the hang of it. I do like how the pixies in the Chinese PH look like anime ppl.

    Yes Club Penguin remains open while Pixie Hollow is closed…the reasoning behind this is just simply to amazing for words. PH was and still is light years a head of cp yet Disney continues to pump money into cp……….why .. only God and Disney know why and neither is saying why.

    It is wonderful to hear from you today. I am also a huge Pixie Hollow fan, and worked on the product for a number of years. I did not realize that it has been a year already. It has gone very quickly.

    It warms my heart to hear that you still have wonderful memories of this beautiful game and that you had hoped to share your experiences with your children one day. Disney is certainly about making memories and sharing them with family and friends for many years to come.

    I know that it was very sad day for all, when the decision was made to close the Hollow for good. Please know that this decision was not made lightly. With the ever changing technology, there was simply no good way to maintain the current site so that it would remain playable by our guests. The site would only have deteriorated, and we did not want to leave you with a bad experience.

    I hope you will continue to hold the memories in your heart by watching some of the wonderful Pixie Hollow videos that are still available to view. This may even be a way for you to share this experience with your family in future.

        Carrie it sounds like Disney has moved on and they are trying to get us to also move on. Surely our homes and cloths and furniture and our pets have long since been deleted as it would make no sense to waste resources just storing it. If Disney were to cave in and bring PH back it would probably cost Disney twice (or more) than what it cost them the first time to start the Hollow up. Disney let go many people involved with the Hollow and the others and they would have to be rehire them (if possible) to do it all again. They are right technology has changed considerably since PH first showed up. As much as I and everyone else here wants PH back I can not see it coming back… at least not done by Disney… maybe Wind Muddle but it won’t be as good as the Disney version.

Like Wind Muddle’s perhaps but it would never be like what we remember of Disneys Pixie Hollow. I love it but I would rather it never comes back because pale imitations can only hurt our Pixie Hollow memories.

    guys i know this isn’t what anyone wants to hear right now but i found out that legend of the never beast is going to be the last Tinkerbell Disney Fairies movie and i think they are stopping the franchise 😦 😦 i am crying so much right now. Why would they bring pixie hollow back if there isn’t going to be anymore Tinkerbell movies. They may change there minds but i fear that its all gonna be gone forever. :(.

      My Dear if by some miracle Disney did surprise us and brought back PH it would be the biggest surprise of the century. Disney has never reversed a major business decision. There has to be more reasons why Disney closed down a very popular online game ( I do wish more Fairies had become full members but they didn’t and I fear that played a part in closing it). If everyone playing PH had been forced to take out a membership perhaps PH would still be alive and well but near the end over half of all Fairies were free members and that dragged it down for all. Yes some would not have been able to join and pay for it but that if life and now a life without Pixie Hollow.

        Well, they had to stop making Tinkerbell movies at some point, because, like Harry Potter, or Percy Jackson, or any type of series, it has to have a close, but hey, Harry Potter books and movies are now finished, and JK Rowling opened Pottermore AFTER the books and movies were done, so whats to say PH won’t open again too?

        But for now, WE are PH, and WE must stay strong. 🙂

    Pixie Hollow has already closed down. Is it too late to save it? It’s been 1 year, three months and 6 days since it closed!

      I didn’t read the article, but the link made me guess it was a story I heard from another pixie a while back… it could be one of the many factors that drove Disney to closing PH.

    Wow is life ever lonely with out Pixie Hollow to come home to. So many wonderful hours spent in the Hollows … now just warm memories.

      This is very interesting, indeed…Although, it doesn’t state the source and the placement of the sentence saying PH is reopening June 2015 seems odd. I’m waiting to see if this is verified or removed after moderation on Wikipedia. Thank you for sharing 🙂

      It would appear the joke played on us came from India. The IP address associated with the change is linked to an India IP. Playing games from far away.

            Like I said Elva the “IP” address of the person who made the change was from India but as it turns out there are other people making the change now as well to throw us off. None of the addons come with any proof so they have to be removed. I did not mean to offend ??

    I still miss Pixie Hollow every day and hope it’ll come back someday. Never give up hope, right? I just wish Disney would listen to us.

    Hope is a wonderful power but I fear in this case it will have no effect cause Disney is there to make money. If we could guarantee Disney that 10,000 people would take out a membership then they might listen cause now we are providing them a viable alternative. Sending emails and petitions alone will not force Disney to cave in. A kid who has a parent in the US Senate well that means something or if Bill Gates has a daughter or niece who is or was a Fairy well that means something because who won’t listen to the richest man in the world…do see my point ..by ourselves we have no power that Disney recognizes . If we are to get PH back we need an angle and a good one to make Disney listen but writing angry email to Disney is not the answer and never will be.

      I agree Diane – Although we have tried petitions and emails in the past, I unfortunately have to admit that it’s all pretty much futile attempts unless we find a way to get them what they want most – money. However, I do have a plan that I hope to use in the future… when though, only time can tell.

      For now however, we will just have to stick with hope, petitions and emails, I guess – until one of us come up with a brilliant doable idea, that is. 😛 🙂

    Has anyone here ever considered trying to get in touch with the human actors who play parts in the Tinker Bell movies ? Asking these people to ask on our behalf is there a chance Pixie Hollow could return I mean they are there in the middle of Disney Fairy land.
