Muppets Most Wanted Blu-ray Review

By Sarah Diamondswirls

Yay, I am finally back, with a post on Marigold’s blog~ (By the way, I should be studying Chemistry right now O.O)

The Muppets are back in star cast, funny and hilarious musical comedy adventure, Disney’s “Muppets Most Wanted,” now available on Blu-ray + DVD! Check out Sarah‘s review of the Blu-ray Combo Pack!

Muppets Most Wanted comes up immediately following the events of the smash hit, Disney’s The Muppets, as Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Animal and the entire Muppet gang set off together on a world tour. As the story follows, as the Muppets find themselves  entangled in an international crime caper headed by Constantine – the World’s Number One Criminal and a dead ringer for Kermit The Frog!

Starring Ricky Gervais, Ty Burrell, and Tina Fey, this must-watch family movie makes its in-home debut with whole THREE versions of the film: The Original Theatrical Cut, the Statler and Waldorf Cut,  and The Unnecessarily Extended Cut, featuring some hilarious bonus content, plus more music, more panache, more drama, and more- Muppets! It sure is a treat for the audience.

The Bottom Story

There’s a long list to choose from when it comes to awesome Muppet movies, for it’s a franchise that has had a long, fruitful and wonderful life and has included some of the best comedians and artistes over the last couple of decades. We can hope that The Muppets continues making better films (there was a phase where the movies were only being seen by die-hard fans.) The Muppets Most Wanted came out as a very successful come back film, and while some parts of the film might as well feel long and stretchy, the extended version (“The Unnecessarily Extended Cut”) of the movie is actually worth watching, and is special in its own unique way.

The Muppets Most Wanted looks amazzing on Blu-ray (no points for guessing that!), but what really sets the Blu-ray apart is the fantabulous (fantastic + fabulous, for your information) bonus material. The” Extended Cut” has some awesome jokes that definitely should have made it onto the big screen, but unfortunately didn’t, and the Blooper Reel is probably one of the best blooper reels to accompany a Muppets film ever. Yes! For those  who love Statler and Waldorf, you most probably can make a quite good guess what The Statler and Waldorf cut contains – needless to say, there are more than a few “Boos” from them. Muppet fans, or Disney fans, as a matter of the fact, would definitely want this gem in their collection. Seriously, I mean it.

Now Muppet fans can experience this laugh and song-filled caper like never before on Blu-ray Combo Pack in an all-new “Unnecessarily Extended Edition,” featuring 12 minutes of exclusive scenes not seen in theaters! Also included on Blu-ray and Digital HD are additional hilarious bonus features, including Statler and Waldorf’s version of the movie, and the laugh-out-loud gag reel, “The Longer, Longest Blooper Reel in Muppets History.”
