Epic Edits : Fashion Fiesta

Have any of you wished you took more screenshots of your pixie? A screenshot with you in your best outfit? Well, I have found the solution! All you need is an image of your fairy and either Photoshop CC ( an awesome editing “thing”) or online editors called Pizap.com or Pixlr.com, but today I am going to show you how to do it on Photoshop CC (hopefully in my next posts I will show you how to use the other two).

I am going to show you how to create an edit of your fairy. I call it: Epic Edits; Fashion Fiesta

Yes, I am going to show you how to change your pixie’s outfit, even though PH is closed.

I will show you the tools you will need to create this edit:

tools
Red : The mouse you use to drag the outfits to and from the tabs, and to move things around.

Yellow: The magnetic lasso tool that cuts out or selects the thing you outline.

Green: The paint brush that allows you to fill in anything that may have rubbed out.

Purple: The rubber allows you to rub out either selected or non-selected area

Pink: Zoom allows you to zoom in and out, to see in finer detail.

Let me show you what images I am starting off with:

outfit

I found this outfit on the internet and thought it looked good 😀

Pixie Hollow Raindrop (2)

This is my original picture that I started off with 🙂

1. Firstly, open up Photoshop CC (after downloading it) and at the top, click the option “File” and then “Open”. Pick the image of your fairy.

photoshop

2. After your image has opened, use the “magnetic lasso tool” and cut out the outfit of your fairy. Then use the rubber tool, and rub out the outfit. (You can rub over your fairy’s face by accident because you have used the lasso tool which only allows you to rub out what is selected.)

photoshop 2

3. Now open up a second image of the outfit you want your pixie to wear. Cut out that outfit and using the small mouse tool, drag it up to the tab of your fairy as (in my case : Raindrop edit.png) and it should paste onto your fairy.

tabs

4. Click the option: Edit —–> Free Transform

5. You can re-size the outfit to fit your fairy.

Then, you do the same to the legs if you didn’t do it already. ( Copying steps 1 – 5)

Now you are all done!

raindrop edit

She looks great doesn’t she? And that was all on Photoshop CC. You can see a few minor differences like her hairstyle, her ear is covered and her right side near the top of her dress looks a bit out of color. But, who cares? It looks really good!

You can even do mix and match!

~~~ UPDATE ~~~
Pixie Halloween
If you want to do it for Halloween, use the same steps above. I created this in just a few minutes:
I was in a rush, but I think it still looks pretty good 😀
You could mix and match as said above : tops and skirts or tops and pants etc.
I hope it was easy for you understand, if not, just comment below and I will help you.
Soon, I’ll take requests if you need me to do it for you. But I’ll update you when I am free 😀
    AMAZING!!! Thank you for this tutorial, Raindrop 😀
    Do you have to pay to use Photoshop CC? I saw on their website that you could download a free trail, but I was wondering if you found a way to use it for free anytime…
    I would love for you to post about how to do this in Pizap.com and Pixlr.com too 🙂
    Please post more fashion edits soon! Can you do holiday ones – like different costumes for Halloween?!?
      Hi Marigold,
      Thanks 🙂
      I am only using the free-trial myself and I haven’t thought to check for a free download, but I will check soon and update you.
      Hopefully, I will be posting edits for Pizap.com and Pixlr.com soon 😀
      I will try to do some Holiday Outfits now ( I am quite sure you can), and I’ll maybe make a post about it if I find some spare time 😉
      Hi Marigold,
      I have just tried to do the Halloween Outfit and it worked!!! 😀 😀 😀
      All you need is the outfit you want to edit ( like the one I found on the internet) and follow the steps above 🙂
      You can do mix and match : tops and skirts etc.
      And of course for other happy holidays 😉
      Hi Carrie,
      Thanks 😀
      You can go to the UK or AU and recreate your fairy ( there is a post in this blog about recreating your fairy) and then save the image of your fairy and you can use Photoshop CC or Pixlr.com or Pizap.com and then you can edit her into different outfits like I have given the tutorial of.
      Hope this helps
      By the way Carrie, I have asked a few times, in which part of Australia do you live? I live in WA Perth. Are you over east in NSW or Queensland or Melbourne. I was just asking to see if maybe a Pixie is around in my neighborhood.
