The Real People Behind The Animations

Hiya again Pixies, Raindrop again !

I am working on this post just minutes after I am not totally gone – I still believe

Now, we all know Silvermist as Silvermist and Rosetta as Rosetta and Fawn as Fawn and I think you get what I mean 😉

Well, I have done a bit of research, (instead of Holiday Homework) about the voices of our favourite fairies. So let’s take a look into the voice of the voices :

(The descriptions are short because I have a lot to go through – all info found on Wikipedia.)

Tinkerbell – The Tinker Fairy

Well all love her curiosity. Well all love her blonde hair and her blue eyes. Well all love how she is usually ready for adventure and we all love her twin sister 😉

So let’s talk about the voice of Tinkerbell, Mae Whitman.

Mae Whitman voices our all-time favourite Tinkerbell in all movies right from Tinkerbell to Tinkerbell and the Neverbeast.

The well known American actress was born on the 9th of June 1988 and is 26 years old.  She acted in heaps of movies and TV series as well as voiced as we know Tinkerbell and Katara from the Avatar – The Last Airbender.

Her first acting was at the age of three for a Tyson Chicken commercial and now she still acts and voices many of our favourite characters.

Periwinkle – The Frost Fairy

The twin of our all time favourite – just on the frosty side 😀 We all know this actress from Cinderella Once Upon A Song and from many other great movies, yep you got it, Lucy Hale !

Rosetta – The Garden Fairy

We know her as the Charmer, the pretty petite fairy, but others know her as Kristin Chenoweth.

Kristin Chenoweth voices the beautiful Garden fairy Rosetta in all Tinkerbell movies.

Kristin was born on the 24th of July 1968 and is 46 years old and still beautiful 😉

Chenoweth was adopted when she was five days old by Junie Smith Chenoweth and Jerry Morris Chenoweth of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, a suburb of Tulsa, and named Kristi Dawn Chenoweth. She has stated that she is of one quarter Cherokee ancestry. At an early age, she performed gospel songs for local church.

Iridessa – The Light Fairy

The self-cautious light talent fairy that is light-hearted and light-talented, Iridessa or I mean Raven-Symone.

Raven was born on the 10th of December 1985 and is 29 years of age.

Raven-Symoné was born in Atlanta, Georgia, to Lydia (Gaulden) and Christopher Pearman. She has a brother, Blaize. As an infant, she worked for Atlanta’s Young FACES Inc. Modeling Agency and was featured in local print advertisements. At the age two, she worked with Ford Models in New York City and appeared in ads for Ritz crackers,Jell-O, Fisher-Price, and Cool Whip. At age three, her family moved to Ossining, New York where she attended Park School.

Raven has played Iridessa’s voice in all the great Tinkerbell movies.

Silvermist – The Water Fairy

The go-with-the-flow and emotional fairy, Silvermist really describes her voice actress Lucy Lui.

Lucy Liu was born on December 2, 1968 now aged 47 . In high school, she adopted a middle name, Alexis. She is the youngest of three children born to Cecilia, who worked as a biochemist, and Tom Liu, a trained civil engineer who sold digital clock pens to make a living. Her parents worked many jobs when Lucy and her siblings were growing up. Liu’s parents originally came from Beijing and Shanghai and emigrated to Taiwan before meeting in New York. She has an older brother, John, and an older sister, Jenny

Liu voiced Silvermist in all the Tinkerbell movies so far and Viper in Kung Fu Panda.

(Silvermist is my favourite mentor 😀 )

Fawn – The Animal Fairy

We love her up beat, tom boy style. We love her sense of humour and we love her love for animals – and we love her voice actress, America Ferrera  just as much 😉

Ferrera, the youngest of six children, was born on the 18th of April 1984 now aged 30. Her parents, América Griselda Ayes and Carlos Gregorio Ferrera, were originally from Tegucigalpa, Honduras, and immigrated to the United States in the mid-1970s.  Her mother worked as the director of the housekeeping staff for one of the Hilton Hotels, and stressed the importance of higher education. When she was 7, her parents divorced and her father returned to Honduras. Ferrera’s father died in 2010.

She also plays Astrid’s voice in How To Train Your Dragron (I think she does, please confirm…)

Another voice actress also played Fawn in Tinkerbell and the Neverbeast, Ginnifer Goodwin.

(I am only writing about one voice actress each but I have provided the links for the other actresses 😉 )

In Tinkerbell and the Lost Treasure, Angela Bartys played as Fawn but I was unable to find anything on Wikipedia about her 😦

So Fawn had quite a few voices 😛

Vidia – The Fast Flying Fairy

We love her super fast wings and how she slowly became a nicer fairy through all of the movies, even though she still had that pixie attitude 😛 And I believe Pamela Adlon voiced this surprisingly nice fairy.

Born on the 9th of July 1966 now aged 48 voiced the speedy and secretly nice, Vidia.  Adlon said that she and her family grew up bi-coastally, moving back and forth a lot between Los Angeles and New York because her father was a journeyman writer and producer for TV. She started performing as a child when she was 9 years old. Her father had a friend who had a radio studio so she would do voice over work there, and while in Los Angeles did acting work, because Adlon said she “didn’t really want to go to school.”

Queen Clarion – The Queen of Pixie Hollow

We musn’t forget the ever-graceful, beautiful and shining Queen voiced by Anjelica Huston.

Born the 8th of July 1951, aged 63, Anjelica voices Queen Clarion throughout all the Tinkerbell movies.

She spent much of her childhood in Ireland.  In the late 1960s, she began taking a few small roles in her father’s movies. She started very small indeed, substituting her hands for Deborah Kerr’s in the British Casino Royale and advanced to bigger roles in 1969, starring, for example, in A Walk with Love and Death, where she played the 16 year old French noblewoman Claudia. In the same year, her mother, who was 39 years old, died in a car accident, and Anjelica relocated to the U.S., where she modeled for several years. While she modeled, she worked with photographers such as Richard Avedon and Bob Richardson.

  2. Awesome post, Raindrop!

Silver mist always resembled a lovely Asian fairy- and the fact that Lucy Lieu voiced her is even better. ^•^
