PHF April 2016 Contest: A Fairy Haiku

4-2016 PHF

Hi, Pixies!

April is National Poetry Month, and the Pixie Hollow Forums (PHF) are holding a contest that highlights a fun but challenging type of poetry: Haiku!

A haiku is a form of traditional Japanese poetry. It is a 17-syllable verse consisting of 3 lines in a pattern of 5 – 7 – 5 syllables. Normally, a haiku would include a reference to one of the 4 seasons.

Here’s an example entry from Onionleaf:

Trees change their outfits
According to the season
Following fashion!

To enter this contest, write a haiku following the rules listed above and post it on the A Fairy Haiku – April 2016 Contest news article thread (click here).

The goal of this contest is to have fun and be creative, so don’t stress yourself out trying to be perfect – no one will judge you for trying ❤

Every fairy that submits an entry will receive this lovely badge to commemorate their creativity and bravery in sharing their poetry:

This contest ends April 30, 2016, so enter your haiku as soon as possible! 😀

♥ Marigold

P.S. Thank you, Raven, for bringing this contest to my attention! 😉

  1. Here’s the haiku I wrote:

    The air smells alive
    Vibrant greens and pristine blooms
    Spring’s finally here

Hey I have sent Disney an email through the site’s support tool and here is the response that I got, I was really hoping that there was a chance for it to come back:

As a valued customer, we want you to know that Pixie Hollow has been retired. Although the decision was difficult to make, this allows us to focus on building new and more engaging games. Thank you for your feedback though, I will be sure to pass this feedback along to our team for you so they can look into this for future updates. If you have any questions please let me know :).

    Best wishes,
